Year 7 LOTE

Marian LOTE

Learning in the Australian Curriculum: Languages is organised through a set of three interrelated strands. They are as follows:

  • Communicating: using language for communicative purposes
  • Understanding: analysing language as a resource for making meaning
  • Reciprocating: interpreting self in relation to others as language users

In developing the curriculum, these three strands should not be seen as discrete, nor
should they be given equal weighting. The relative contribution of each strand will differ for different stages of learning and for different languages.
